Bottom Leading Edge Skin
Same thing applies as always, pre-drill, corrosion protection. Install the service door doublers first as in the Bottom Skin. Start with the bottom first and drill and cleco with silver clecos. You will notice on the end of the leading edge they bend 90 degrees with slots in them. Those bends fit into the gaps of the nose ribs.
After you have the bottom secure with clecos, fold the leading edge around the nose ribs inserting the bent ends into the proper places. Now this helped me a lot. Use duct tape to tape on each side of the rivet lines. Use lots of tape and make it tight. Drill and cleco.
Here is the way I do it and it seems to work good for me. Assuming you have every hole clecoed with silver clecos. Remove every other one and drill those holes to the final rivet size(1/8"). Put the proper cleco (copper) in the holes as you drill them. Then remove the rest of the silver clecos and drill and copper cleco the rest of the holes.
This is important, remove all the clecos before you remove the tape. This helps by not putting stress on any one cleco which could cause a bend or wrinkle. Do what ever de-burring you need to do and cleco just the bottom putting a copper cleco in every other hole. Go ahead and rivet the empty holes, remove the rest of the cleco and rivet them. Now retape the leading edge like before, cleco every other hole and rivet as above. Remove tape and you are done. This method make for a pretty smooth finish.
